RAK Hospitality Holding is a limited liability company controlled by the government of Ras Al Khaimah with its sole focus on the hospitality and leisure sectors.

The foundation stone of the company was laid in 2001, with the opening of Hilton Ras Al Khaimah. It marked RAK government’s entry into hotel investment and opened the door for future development of the country’s tourism sector.

The next major chapter of the story came six years later with the opening of Hilton Ras Al Khaimah Resort & Spa. This major project paved the way for further developments and became a benchmark for “destination Ras Al Khaimah”.

In 2013, the formation of the subsidiary company RAK National Hotels LLC reaffirmed the long-term position in the ownership of hotel assets. RAK National Hotels is currently the owner and asset manager of four hotel assets operating in the Emirate.

With assets accumulating and a vision becoming clear, the formal consolidation of all RAK government owned hotel and hospitality assets was the natural step, and, in 2014, RAK Hospitality Holding LLC was formed.

To complete the picture, the company’s operating arm, Hakaya Collection, was created with a mandate to manage RAK’s hospitality and leisure assets in the areas of entertainment, leisure, dining and retail.

Today, the company’s role and purpose can be broken down into three business wings and five core activities within the tourism sector:

Hospitality Asset Management:
  • Owned hotels
  • Hotels owned by RAK government affiliates (overseas)
  • Non-related, privately owned hotels.
Hospitality Operations (Hakaya Collection)
Hospitality Logistics* (Hospitality Support Services)

*This entity is under development.

In addition, the company offers an external consultancy role as asset manager, adviser and facilities manager for hotels, F&B, leisure and other hospitality related activities.
