Contribution to GDP: Tourism in Ras Al Khaimah represents around 3% of total GDP.

Job creation: hotels deliver up to 5,000 jobs and the number is expected to grow significantly in the next few years and leading up to 2019. General hospitality jobs including F&B, retail, passenger transportation, recreation and entertainment contribute up to 18,000 jobs.

Visitors: Increased by 10.9% year-on-year in 2016, with double-digit growth in each of RAK’s four largest source markets, due to the strategic initiatives and promotional activities undertaken by the authority in domestic and international source markets.

  • Locally, the UAE, with its contribution of 41.2 % of total visitors to RAK, continues to be the most significant source market in terms of visitors.

No. of hotels and hotel rooms: There are currently 18 hotel establishments in Ras Al Khaimah between 3, 4 and 5 star hotels and 5,018 existing hotel rooms.
