Destination Ras Al Khaimah 2019

A strategy for growing tourism

Inspired by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, tourism has become a priority on the government’s agenda. Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) transformed the tourism industry in the emirate with the launch of its first tourism strategy – Vision 2019 that focuses on attracting one million visitors by the end of 2018.

As a result, Ras Al Khaimah attracted 1,072,066 visitors in 2018, exceeding the original target of the three-year plan. RAKTDA recently announced the launch of its new Destination Strategy 2019-2021, which will focus on diversifying the emirate’s tourism offering to attract a wider segment of tourists and more investment.

The strategy sets out a clear roadmap for the future of tourism in the emirate, supported by the various strategic partners and stakeholders in RAK and is expected to be a game changer by the year 2019.
